Homes for the Holiday Sunday, December 4, from 5-7p.m.
The La Porte City Women’s Club invites you to tour five festively decorated homes in La Porte City on
Sunday, December 4, from 5-7:00 p.m. These brightly lit homes are opening their doors to the public to share
their Christmas décor. The historic early 1900’s Snook home is also on the tour. We will have vendors
in this gorgeous historic home as well as hot chocolate & cookies provided by the Women’s Club.
First Baptist Church to Serve Thanksgiving Dinner

Belle Plaine Festival of Trees and Bake Sale November 25 and 26
Come vote for your favorite tree, but be prepared as the competition will be stiff! Belle Plaine Area businesses, organizations, and residents are turning up the creativity for two great causes, with proceeds from the event benefiting the Belle Plaine Area Ambulance and the Wallace & Beverly Winkie Foundation scholarship fund. You'll see trees decorated with themes ranging from medical to hardware to Belle Plaine history and everything in between.
Van Horne Community Luncheon November 22
A community luncheon will be held on November 22 at the Van Horne Community Center. Blood pressure checks will be offered at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Thanksgiving meal at noon.Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by November 18 to Brenda at (319) 442-3234 or email bengelking@keystonecare.org.

Newhall Food Drive through December 9
The Newhall Fire Department is hosting its first-ever food drive. The goal is to provide food to families and individuals in the community who are in need through the Christmas season. A freezer/refrigerator will be provided to hold items that need to stay cold. If no one is at the department, please leave food items outside the west door as it is monitored frequently.
Downtown holiday Open House November 20, 12-4:00 p.m.
Vinton's Downtown Annual Holiday Open House is scheduled to be held on Sunday, November 20th from noon until 4:00 p.m.Area businesses will be opening their stores to welcome shoppers to begin the Holiday Shopping Season. Mark your calendar and get ready to start your Christmas shopping!
Vinton American Legion Post 57 Upcoming Meal Information
The Vinton American Legion Post 57 will not be having tenderloin fries in November and December due to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Starting with the December 9th Fish Fry we will be serving french fries in place of baked potatoes.January, February and March we will not have fish fries on the Second Friday of the month. Instead, we will be having tenderloin fries on those dates.
